June Favorites

So, June ended like a quick nap. I mean I probably have naps longer than how quickly June flashed by…

If you’re coming in from my previous post, I was supposed to do a post on my bullet journal, but just like a workout, my bullet journaling experience has to stick for at least 8 weeks to see if I actually like it.

But that’s that… There is much to say today and very little time.

Fashion/Outfits:

This month has been a juxtaposition. From florals to my new found but old love for graphic t-shirts has come back. My love for blazers and business casual hasn’t gone away I have simply incorporated the t-shirts into these outfits to make the t-shirts become a conversation starter. This has been especially helpful when attending networking events as an icebreaker. Also for this month, my staple, although hidden in the pictures, has been a new favorite purchase of mine, Black Court Heels from Oriental Traffic. These go with every outfit and as a senior running around they are as comfortable as sneakers! I know they have been good to me because according to my Stylebook app, I’ve worn them for 20 days of the month. That is all that needs to be said for them!

Oh and by the by, yes I tried taking artsy photos; but I don’t know if they really work. Let me know what you think by showing some love to the post!

Music:

There was no question as to what this would be. I mean it really did not take me even a second to think about this. Also if you follow me on Instagram, you know what I am about to say. This month’s ultimate has been Shawn Mendes’ self-titled album, without any questions.

This album has led me to feel such a roller coaster of emotions every time I listen to it, which is literally every breathing minute this month, that I can not stop playing. Even as I write this I have Mutual on blast. From the aesthetics of the album art to the lyrical emotion on this album… sigh… Yes, I am a fangirl, if you could not tell by now!! #noapologies

Honestly, even if my life depended on it, I would not be able to pick just one favorite song. After reading this, trust me you have to listen to In My Blood at the very least!

Books:

Besides working on my thesis, there really hasn’t been much time to read; but since the beginning of this year, I have tried to at least read one book a month and this month, I finally got my hands on Leave Your Mark by Aliza Licht.

Over the last month, I have seriously begun the job hunting process and this book has been literally a bible for me to ace interviews and how to create lasting impressions on the people I meet. And the way she has written the book it is so simple with tips and self-assessment parts that it is easy to pick up and begin from any chapter or keep coming back to a section as the circumstance arises. Lastly, this book has finally helped me realize that I actually want to focus more so on social media marketing and leave my mark! If you’re still looking for a graduation present for someone, this is the best book you can gift in this day and age!

Shows:

Queer Eye Season 2

Queer Eye’s Season 2. Do I really need to say anything more?? I mean can we all please have a clone of Jonathan Van Ness in our lives. From one line inspirations to all the heartwarming stories; what more could you want. The only downside is that there are only 8 episodes and that honestly is just enough for one night. #bingewatchlife

I hope you were inspired to try something new! Let me know if any of them become your favorites as well.

And remember like Jonathan would say “You are strong, you’re a Kelly Clarkson song, you’ve got this.”

As always find me on Instagram and Twitter!
