Fall Makeup Bag Update
So now, that we are officially into October; it’s okay for me to take artsy pictures with a warm Starbucks that has my lipstick mark on it right?
Boy was that a long sentence. I mean Aliza Licht in her book says to “Leave your Mark” and the cover literally has a coffee cup with a lipstick mark. Sidenote though, I highly recommend the book if you are interested in Social Media, PR and Fashion as a career choice. Even otherwise it really helps in finding the right career path or making one for yourself. For more of my take: June Favorites
But back to the business of this post… Last month, in the beginning I had posted what’s in my fall makeup bag. But over the course of the last month there have been many changes. I have taken out a lot of the lip colors because they just weren’t fall enough for me this season such as the Dior Liquid Rouge in Diorly. For some reason that berry pink shade just wasn’t vibing with me this time. I think it could be because a lot of the makeup looks I have been doing are brown and Burgundy based so a berry pink was a contrasting effect like a student back from exchange and has an accent.
Things that have been added into the bag

NYX Duo Chromatic Lip Gloss, Inglot Eyeshadow Duo, MAC Pro Longwear Concealer, L’oreal Color Riche Matte
NYX Duo Chromatic Lip Gloss in Gypsy Dreams

NYX Duo Chromatic Lip Gloss in Gypsy Dreams
This is the experiment shade of the month. It’s a duo chromatic purple with iridescent reflexes. Just the fact that it has iridescent reflexes puts it out of my comfort zone and I will try this just for that sake. I had got this particularly for Summer Sonic since I had a whole typical Music Fest Look going on and need something duo chromatic. I have used this as a highlight and as an eyeshadow topcoat, which had great results since the sun really reflected off of them giving my cheekbones the “Kapow!” look that it needs and loves. Let’s see how I feel about it on my lips, I’ll keep you updated on Instagram.
Inglot Custom Duo (Matte Brown and Basic Shimmer Gold)

Inglot Custom Duo (Matte Brown and Basic Shimmer Gold)
Okay, I don’t have the exact shade numbers since I had bought this duo in the summer of 2017. But it’s a standard matte brown and basic shimmer gold. The reason I had chosen this pairing was that it is something quick and easy. One swipe of the brown all over my lid and then a bit of the gold in the center to complete the look. Now I can mix the shades with the Makeup Forever Trio I had put in my September Favorites. Plus I’ve taken out my highlight palette to keep the bag less crowded so the gold works well as a highlight shade as well since it compliments the brown skin.
Mac Pro Longwear Concealer in NW35

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NW 35
I haven’t found a concealer I could be at the very least interested in, in a very long time. Mostly because concealers here, especially at drugstores, do not match my skin tone. They are too light, or too yellow, or too ashy for me. The reason I was in the mood to get onto the concealer train was simple, I was getting lazy of doing a full face of foundation on a daily basis. This way I can cover the places I want to and not get tired of blending and blending the foundation into my skin (Btw it’s the Dior Backstage Foundation in 4N. Highly Recommend it.)
L’oreal Paris Color Riche Matte Lipstick in Rich Merlot (250)

L’oreal Color Riche Matte in Rich Merlot
It’s fall and a rich merlot is basically the definition of the season. First of all the packaging I love the matte black tube and the gold edge, it just gives the effect of applying a deep red that extra oomph you want to feel when you apply a color as sultry as such. I don’t know how long lasting it would be but it’s the L’oreal Paris Color Riche line it is bound to be dependable. Besides, whenever I wear this color I feel like the girl in Particular Taste; and that’s always a fun vibe.
Things that have been removed from the bag

NYX Sweet Cheeks Palette, NYX Matte Finishing Spray, L’oreal x Balmain Lipstick, Colourpop Lippie Stix in Creature
I’m going to keep this short I promise.
NYX Sweet Cheeks Palette
I just didn’t vibe with the palette after the Becca x Chrissy Teigen Glow Palette. There is no doubt about it that it is a beautiful palette but I rarely wear blush. There are two highlighter shades that I like and if I could find those in singles, I would give this to someone in the family or friends who actually likes blush.
L’oreal x Balmain Collab Lipstick (Muted Greige) and Colourpop Lippie Stix in Creature
For some reason, my lips got very chapped from them even though I used a primer and I apply aloe vera gel on my lips every night. Plus the Muted Greige color from the L’oreal x Balmain made me look very washed out on its own. I would probably pair it with a nude lip and apply it in the center as an effect.
NYX Matte Setting Spray
This was honestly great for the summer but I might try the glowy for a dewy look in dreary winter when it comes. This was a true trooper of the summer but it’s time it went back to the shelf for now.
I have a lot of content coming up in the month of October with a lot of exciting new things happening. Be sure to follow me on Instagram!
